Course Portraits
Last updated June 22, 2026
These terms govern your use of Course Portraits and any order you place with us. By placing an order you agree to them, so please read them — especially the parts about made-to-order work, proof approval, and refunds.
Course Portraits is a service of J Squared Labs, LLC (“we,” “us”). We create custom, made-to-order commemorative golf portraits — a painted rendering of a hole or course, finished as a digital file or a framed print. You can reach us any time at hello@courseportraits.com.
Every portrait is made to order from the details you give us — a course, a hole, a date, a name — and from a reference image. Each piece is created individually and is personalized to you, so it is not a stock item that can be resold or returned for a change of mind.
When you upload a photo or provide text for your portrait, you confirm that:
You grant us the limited license we need to use your photo and details to create, produce, and deliver your portrait, and to keep a copy for support and reprints. You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from content you supplied that you didn’t have the right to use.
After you order, our studio prepares proof options and sends them to you to review. You choose the one you want. If none feel right, tell us — we’ll revise and re-proof to get it right. Because work begins as soon as you order, orders are not refundable for cash, but we’ll keep working with you until you’re happy with a proof (see our Returns & Refunds policy).
Approving a proof locks your order. Once you approve a proof and it enters production, it can no longer be changed or cancelled — your file is delivered or your print is manufactured to that exact approval.
Prices are shown in US dollars at checkout and are charged through our payment processor, Stripe. We don’t see or store your full card details. Placing an order and paying forms a contract for a made-to-order item under these terms.
Digital portraits are delivered as a download once you approve your proof. Physical prints are produced and shipped by a third-party print partner on our behalf and arrive in Course Portraits packaging. Because each print is made to order, timelines are estimates, not guarantees — see our FAQ for typical turnaround and shipping details.
Custom, personalized items can’t be returned for a change of mind. We will, however, replace or refund anything that arrives defective or damaged. The full policy — including the 30-day window for damage claims — is on our Returns & Refunds page.
We may show finished portraits (and the styling around them) in our own portfolio and marketing — for example our website gallery and @courseportraits — to show what we make. We’ll never include your personal details, and you can opt out at any time by emailing hello@courseportraits.com.
We retain ownership of our brand, templates, styles, and the methods we use to make your portrait. You receive the finished portrait for your own personal, non-commercial use (display it, print extra copies of the digital file for yourself, give it as a gift). You may not resell it or use it commercially without our written permission.
Please don’t submit content that is unlawful, hateful, infringing, or that you don’t have the right to use. We may decline or cancel (with a refund) any order we believe violates these terms or that we’re unable to fulfill.
We put real care into every portrait, but a painting is an interpretation of your photo, not a photographic reproduction — colors, light, and detail are stylized. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order, and we’re not liable for indirect or incidental losses.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
We may update these terms from time to time; the “last updated” date above reflects the current version, and changes apply to orders placed after that date. Questions? Email hello@courseportraits.com.
