Course Portraits

We collect only what we need to make and ship your portrait, and we’re upfront about the partners that help us do it. Here’s exactly what we hold and where it goes.
We don’t sell your personal information. We do use advertising-measurement and analytics tools to understand how people find us and to measure the performance of our ads — see “Who we share it with” and “Cookies and tracking” below, including how to opt out.
We use a small set of trusted service providers (“sub-processors”) to run the service. Each receives only the data it needs for its job:
| Provider | What it does | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Stripe | Payment processing | Your payment details (directly — not through us) |
| OpenAI | AI image generation — turns your reference photo into the painted artwork | Your uploaded photo and the artwork prompt |
| Our print partner | Printing, framing, and shipping physical orders | Your name, shipping address, and the final artwork file |
| Resend | Sending transactional email | Your email address and message content |
| Supabase | Database and file storage | Your order record, photo, and generated artwork |
| Vercel | Website hosting | Standard request/server data |
| Meta (Facebook/Instagram) | Advertising measurement (Meta Pixel & Conversions API) | A hashed version of your email, your IP address and browser, and purchase events — used to match your purchase to our ad accounts, not your name or contact details |
| Google Analytics | Website analytics | Pseudonymous usage data (pages and events) and your IP address |
We may also disclose information if required by law. We don’t share your data with anyone else.
To paint your portrait, your reference photo is sent to our image-generation provider (OpenAI) and used to produce the artwork. OpenAI does not use data submitted through its API to train its models. We keep your photo and the generated artwork associated with your order so we can deliver it and make reprints.
We keep your order details, photo, and artwork for as long as needed to deliver your order and support reprints, plus any period required for tax and accounting. You can ask us to delete your photo and personal details once your order is complete — see below.
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal information, or opt out of having your finished portrait shown in our marketing (see the Terms). Just email hello@courseportraits.comand we’ll take care of it.
Essential. When you place an order we set a secure, httpOnly cookie that acts as your key to your order pages. Separately, when you first arrive via one of our ads we set a short-lived cookie that records how you reached us (for example, which campaign), so we can measure where our customers come from.
Advertising and analytics. We use the Meta Pixel and Google Analytics, which set their own cookies, to measure our advertising and understand how the site is used. When you complete an order we also send Meta a server-side record of the purchase that includes a hashed version of your email, which Meta uses to match the purchase to our ad accounts — we don’t send your name or contact details this way. We apply Meta’s Limited Data Use setting by default.
Your choices. You can block these with your browser settings or an ad/cookie blocker, and you can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s opt-out add-on. To have us stop processing your data for advertising, email hello@courseportraits.com.
Our service is intended for adults. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Course Portraits is a service of J Squared Labs, LLC, based in New Jersey, United States, and acts as the controller of your personal information. We and our providers process data in the US, so by using the service you understand your information is handled there.
We’ll update this policy as our service evolves; the “last updated” date above reflects the current version (last updated June 22, 2026). Questions about your privacy? Email hello@courseportraits.com.
